Speaker: Ashley Wilson Fellers

Ashley Wilson Fellers is an award-winning arts writer based in Roanoke, Virginia. Her features, creative nonfiction, photo essays, poetry and fictional works have appeared in a wide range of regional publications like The Virginian Pilot and The Roanoker Magazine, in business publications, and in literary journals like DoubleTake / Points of Entry, SmokeLong Quarterly, Artemis and Pensive: A Global Journal of Spirituality and the Arts. She’s also served as an editor at two different publications, crafted curricula for college-level study, and created website copy, media kits and marketing buildouts for local businesses and nonprofits. She has a Master of Fine Arts degree in writing from Virginia Tech.

Speaker: Dr. Fred Eichelman
​
Fred Eichelman is an Ohio born boy, raised in a small Virginia town and a resident of Salem for 60 years. He is a graduate of Bridgewater College, as well as Virginia and Virginia Tech Universities. Dr. Eichelman was an educator for 40 years for Roanoke County Schools and specialized in history and government. He has served as head of several educational associations. Today he considers himself a Constitutional Christian Conservative politically. Dr. Eichelman is a member of CommUNITY Church in Salem and has been in several churches in his lifetime. He has loved the field of writing since age ten, but it wasn't until age 80 when he made a mark as an author. Dr. Eichelman also has worked with media conventions since 1976 and has used the entertainment media in both his teaching and church work. He was married to Carolyn, also a teacher, who went to be with the Lord at the end of April. He has two children, five grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Debbie Seagle lives in Radford, Virginia, where she authored the award-winning #1 bestseller that inspired the upcoming movie “Coffee Cups & Wine Glasses.” She has two published self-help humor books and two novels in editing. Her stories, columns, & photos have been published in magazines, books, & newspapers across America.
She loves her family, friends, dirt, kayaking, skiing, hiking, her maker, and her truck.

WRITERS SWAP
Story Swap Meeting Information—Come for help, if needed, and wonderful fellowship.
Barnes and Noble Tanglewood at 6:00 pm.
1. The Saturday before our Thursday Story Swap meeting, I will email RVCW attendees
asking for those who want critique or would like to read a writing. Please send me an email
stating such, with a copy of the reading. Word count should be 1500 or less.
2. I will take the first six writers’ requests received. I will hold the others until the next Swap
time.
3. You must make submissions to me by Tuesday before our Story Swap on the fourth Thursday
of each month, except November and December.
4. I will email a list of accepted submissions to be read.
5. Those coming to Swap will read their submissions to the group. For written comments, if you
want your piece critiqued, bring copies—double-spaced—to give out.
